The Panhandle Primate Podcast
I first met Trent in the summer of 2021 when we moved to Stephenville TX and we quickly became best friends. In 2024 Trent’s world was turned upside down when he experienced blood clots in his left arm and during his hospitalization suffered a stroke. In the subsequent year Trent had to relearn how to walk, eat and see again as well as learning to deal with other deficits. Through working with talented and passionate therapist and educating himself he gained a new insight into the health care system and developed a heart for the broken. He is now turning his trauma into something positive but starting The Broken Road podcast to interview survivors and shine a light that there is life after trauma. He also stated The Broken Road Project which seeks to help connect people with the resources they need to work towards their highest quality of life. Along with working on all his own projects Trent has also been co-hosting on The Panhandle Primate Podcast for the past several episode. We live in a hyper specialized society where it is necessary to rely on others for their expertise. For example, everyone who drives a car has to pump gas but few people understand how a refinery works, what it takes to transport the fuel and how it has to be stored. For the most part expertise is apparent in the product produced, does the bridge stand? do the lights come on? But when it comes to social studies, such as religion and history, how is the product tested? In this episode I present several sites and corresponding artifacts that I believe force the standard narrative into question. From the colossal unfinished stones still in the quarry to precision cut boxes and caves there are clues that point to a radically misunderstood past technology cloaked by the passage of time. I believe the sites mentioned in this episode blow holes in the standard narrative of linear human progression and challenge the assertion that modern humanity is at the pinnacle of civilizational achievement.

I have always felt a tinge of remorse whenever I saw splattered wildlife on the side of the road. To me, road kill is a symbol of the insanity of our age. Our cruelty seems to be our desire for convenience at whatever cost, especially if that cost has no dollar signs attached. This story is a critique of modernity, and I also take it as an opportunity to take a poke at the carpetbaggers flooding into Texas. I hope you enjoy this story
I have wanted to write a story that captures the hope and despair that exist at the end of the night in every dive bar that I have ever been in. I also was attempting to capture some of the interesting cultural expressions around the Covid-19 pandemic at the same time. I hope you enjoy
In June of 2025 I attended the Cosmic summit in Greensboro North Carolina. After a great weekend of presentations and conversations, I left with more questions then I came with. Throughout the weekend I gained a new context through which to ask questions. This context create the inspiration for todays episode. In order to have a solid view of the past a person must develop a lens to view evidence through. In this episode I talk about evidence that is overlooked or misinterpreted by mainstream Geology and Archeology. I ask the question "do we know what we are looking at. From Geological formations covered by the Great Randall Carlson, Ancient Precision stone vases presented but Matt Beall, Mysterious lost megalithic structures presented by Ben Van Kerkwyk, and even question what is in plain sight with Catherine Ulissey and Michael Collins of Wandering Wolf productions. I hope you enjoy this video. This is my first attempt at recording with this format and set up and I know I have a lot of kinks to work out as well as tighten up my thoughts.
